When the River Quieted My Mind – By Sophany – Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🇰🇭

Yesterday, I walked through a valley to a river with a friend. My mind was crowded with worries about work and money.

The path was quiet. No traffic. No notifications. Just the sound of our footsteps and the steady flow of the river.

As we walked, we talked about the birds, the trees, and the peaceful feeling of being surrounded by nature. Between our conversations, we listened to the water and the wildlife around us.

Somewhere along the way, a small thought appeared in my mind: You don’t have to solve everything right now.

Slowly, the weight I had been carrying began to lift. My thoughts became lighter. My shoulders relaxed.

When we returned, my problems hadn’t disappeared. The bills were still there, and work was still waiting for me. But something had changed. I felt calm again.

That walk didn’t fix my problems, but it reminded me of something important: Peace is often just a few steps away.
